Free Financial Counseling

Are you facing the uncertainty of a job loss?

Our thoughts are with our members who find themselves in this difficult situation.
OUCU has partnered with a financial fitness program called BALANCE.

Through this partnership you have access to free financial counseling services including a toll-free InfoLine, money management counseling, debt management planning and credit report review. This service is confidential and anonymous.

BALANCE financial counselors work with you to help avoid or resolve financial distress and establish personal financial control.

Do you have questions about your retirement plan options? We also offer financial planning information to help you make some decisions.

Debt Management Plan

The Balance Debt Management Plan offers:

  • free, confidential consultations with a professional counselor
  • review your options, including structured repayment plan
  • help with budgeting
  • available weekdays, evenings, and weekends
  • toll-free phone number

During your free and confidential hour-long session, your counselor will go over your income, living expenses and debt in detail and will offer information and suggestions for dealing with debt issues such as delinquent rent or mortgage payments, credit card bills, past due utilities, back taxes or student loan delinquency, or credit accounts sent to collections. You might also choose a one-hour appointment to go over first time homebuyer preparation (budgeting to pay off debt and save for a down payment, among other things).

Schedule an Appointment

Call Balance counselors at 888-456-2227 Monday through Thursday between 8 a.m.-11 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.-.8 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. (EST) or email them at info@balancepro.org and they'll call you back to schedule the appointment (please do not email any sensitive information including your account numbers or Social Security Number).
