The biggest difference is that members own their credit unions. A $10 deposit into your OUCU savings account is your member “share” in the credit union.
While most banks send profits to shareholders, credit unions are not-for-profit cooperative financial institutions that return profits to members in the form of better rates, lower service charges and convenient services. Members also have a direct impact on how a credit union operates by voting for the volunteer board of directors.

No. All you need is your passport and a visa permitting you to study or work in the U.S.
Yes. If you are at least 21, you’ll need a Social Security Number and proof of income.
If you are under 21, and full time student, you’ll need a social security number and a qualified co-signer.
